Hi all,
For those of you who do go to Plymouth, I thought I would send you a warning about the car park operators at Toys R Us. My husband visited the store on 9th May with my parents-in-law to purchase some toys for their granddaughter's birthday. My mother-in-law became dizzy due to new medication she is taking and they had to get water quickly and allow her to sit for a while. This means they went over the allotted time allowed by just 31 minutes.
One month later, we received a fine for £75 (although if we paid it quickly, it would have been £50). They said that they were operating in accordance with the DVLA Code of Practice (having contacted DVLA, there isn't one). They got our car details by sending £2.50 to the DVLA - apparently anyone can do this - so please be aware. I have e-mailed them four times asking for their Appeals Procedure and still no response on this. I then sent an e-mail on Monday explaining the situation and we received a letter this morning dismissing the appeal. I understand from other people that they actually don't consider appeals.
All I am saying is please be careful - there are cowboy operators out there - this particular company G24 has a very bad reputation.
Toys R Us have refused to help. If anyone out there can help, I would be grateful.
Thanks,
Natacha
